Fringe Benefit Charters

Fringe Benefit Charters offers professional guided fishing trips for Halibut, Salmon, Rockfish, Lingcod and Winter King Salmon. Captain Ben is a born and raised Homer-ite and second generation fisherman. This year marks his 12th season as running his own boat!  He grew up working as a deckhand and Captain for his parents well-known charter company, North Country Charters. Captain Ben has a one-of-a-kind love and passion for fishing and helping his clients have a trip of a lifetime.

The West Cape is a 33ft Bounty Motor Yacht, powered by twin 370hp Yanmar diesels. It has a large heated cabin, large back deck, head (restroom) and is capable of taking a maximum of 6 passengers.

Ben and Katie are proud to announce that Fringe Benefit Charters has purchased a new boat for the 2019 season and beyond!

The new boat is a 33 foot 1997 Bounty Motor Yacht named the West Cape.  It is a full five feet longer and one foot wider than our previous boat, the Fringe Benefit (which we are retiring).  The West Cape has twin 370hp diesel engines which are faster and more economical than our old boat.  With it's increased size and speed (24kts-32kts) it is an awesome way to show our appreciation and gratitude for our long-time repeat clientele.  This newer vessel is sure to last us many years as we continue to strive to provide quality guiding services to old friends and new, in Homer Alaska!
